Jazz Fest
This popular festival is held every year on the last weekend
of April and first weekend of May. The New Orleans
Fairgrounds play host to musicians and groups from around
the world. The Fest features Pop, Jazz, Blues and
Gospel music played by some of the music world's biggest
stars. Along with the music, fabulous food, local
crafts - this is is something not be missed.
Louisiana Philharmonic
The magnificent music of the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra entertains and enlightens with
the finest classical music. Under the direction of conductor Klauspeter
Seibel, the LPO is this country's only musician owned and operated symphony.
The LPO presents its concerts in the exquisite Orpheum Theatre, 129 University Place, only a few steps from the historic French Quarter.
Mardi Gras
Mardi Gras happens every year, but it's never on the same exact date. It's always 47 days before Easter, and that date is celebrated on the first Sunday after the full moon that follows the Spring Equinox. Plan to come to Mardi Gras at your first opportunity:

Mardi Gras World
To get the feeling of Mardi Gras year-round, visit Mardi
Gras World, the largest float designing and building
facility in the world. Here more than 80 percent of the
floats that journey down New Orleans' streets during the
Carnival season are designed and built.
Mardi Gras World is open daily.
Here visitors view a 10-minute video, don authentic Mardi
Gras costumes, and tour enormous warehouses filled with
floats. The tour includes a guide who is quite knowledgeable
about Mardi Gras history and customs. And for a taste of
Mardi Gras, King Cake and piping hot New Orleans coffee are
served.
