St. Louis No. 1 Cemetery, founded in 1789, is the burial ground of some of the most famous figures from the city's past. Here you will find the supposed tomb of Voodoo Queen Marie Laveau: Etienne Bore, pioneer in sugar development; and, Paul Morphy, world famous chess champion and many more.

Voo Doo Museum
For a truly haunting memory, experience a Voo Doo ritual, sponsored by the Voo Doo Museum, every Friday night at 7:00, at the Museum's contemporary location, 217 North Peters Street, on the edge of the historic French Quarter. The Museum also offers Bloody Mary's Walking Tour from its historic location at 724 Dumaine Street. Both locations exhibit art, totems and many ritual objects used in Voo Doo
